Becoming a Certified LBGT Business Enterprise
As a DBA member, you are eligible to apply to become a certified LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE) through the NGLCC (National LGBT Chamber of Commerce). To qualify, your business must be at least 51% LGBT owned, operated, and controlled.
LGBT Certified Businesses will have opportunities to work with leading corporations and governmental organizations that have expanded their supplier diversity programs. It allows you to differentiate your company from your competitors. Additionally, many in our communities buying goods and services are interested in supporting and doing business with LGBTQ-owned businesses.
As an active DBA member, LGBTBE certification is free through the NGLCC (normally $800).
Research shows that the LGBTQ community spends close to $920 billion every year on goods and services, and they are more likely to choose your company when they know you are LGBTQ-inclusive.
In addition to events, conferences, leadership training, and scholarship opportunities, as an LBGTBE-certified business, you will be included in the NGLCC’s internal, proprietary database. This database is accessible by NGLCC Corporate Partners and includes dozens of organizations looking to support the LGBTQ community.
